Let me introduce, Justin Borne Boring! I had the pleasure of meeting up with Justin to talk about his book launch on May 18! The book, a romance, was heartwarming, thrilling, and captivating. Justin did an amazing job holding my attention throughout the book. I laughed, frowned, and was totally invested in Logan the mc. You won’t want to miss this!!

Here’s what he had to say… The novel: Beau-Laid What inspired the idea for Beau-Laid? The inspiration came from an old short story I had written many years ago. It started as a horror story entitled Disgusting Face and has since evolved into a beautiful love story. What characters in your book are most like you or people you know? Logan is loosely based on me. Which of the characters do you relate to the most and why? My main male character Logan has some characteristics like myself after his transformation. I am lucky enough to have found my soulmate and I try to remind her of this every day just as Logan showed how much he cared for Tess. What was your hardest scene to write, and why? The love scenes were the most difficult to write mainly because I knew my intended audience was mainly female and I wanted to be sure that what I wrote was honest, accurate, and in line with what they enjoyed reading. What part of the book was the most fun to write? The action scene with the Mafia goons at the end was my favorite scene to write. What is a significant way your book has changed since the first draft? I moved from a horror short story to a novel of love, inner beauty, and growth. How would you describe your book’s ideal reader? My book’s ideal reader would be looking for a story with character growth and strength. They would be looking for a strong female heroine and a story of true love despite pain and struggles. My last question to Justin was, what’s up next? His response was simple, My next books will all be a part of a series. They will be paranormal romance series that will be standalone, but the characters will be interconnected. You can expect a few different relationships, strong female heroines, and plenty of angst and HEAs. Beau-Laid: Logan Lepozod was born into a cruel and cold existence, void of love and human connection, but his brilliant talent as a painter, and a tragically ironic life event would lead him to an epiphany of self-realization, transcendence, and true love. Tess is a beautiful, quick-witted, calamity magnet, on the run from an abusive and sinister ex-boyfriend. Tess crash-lands into Logan’s life, forever changing it - and him. An unlikely love blooms between the two wayward souls amidst the milieu of a candid and unflinching journey that changes them both profoundly. Logan and Tess have complicated and thorny pasts that demand reconciliation before they can move on, and into each other’s hearts. However, with the grand thrill of burgeoning love, comes the painful stab of growth and risk, as the two are plunged into a life adventure filled with laughter, love, friendship, passion, and danger. Balance is the ultimate power in the universe, and unless Logan and Tess can find theirs, the flowering love between them may only be the first of many casualties. There is no light without shadow, no reward without risk, and no beauty without ugliness. Beau-Laid: French term, a person who is beautiful because of their flaws.
